Vi-spring is now too soft for me

It is impossible for me to comment upon the mattress you have from Vi-Spring, without knowing which model it is and your body weights.

Vi-Spring are a very reputable manufacturer of beds and indeed, some of our Artisan range are comparable in terms of feel, but not content.

The only reference I have it is traditional TK 592 cream, if that helps.

My body weight is 8st 7lbs. the soft side if the mattress was awful for me. And now the medium side is not much better. As it is a king-size I suppose it makes the mattress softer than if it were a double?

The mattress you refer to is a Traditional Bedstead mattress, which aside from the springs, has 1350 GSM (grams per square metre) of bonded Platinum Certified British fleece wool and cotton with a further 2 layers each of 900 GSM blended Platinum Certified British fleece wool and cotton.

Whilst your body weight should dictate a soft feel mattress, this mattress will feel particularly soft even when placed on a slatted base, although this should make if feel slightly firmer. We do find although your body weight falls in the soft tension spring range that a lot of lighter weighted people prefer a medium tension spring.

If you are considering a change to another Vi-Spring model, I would suggest that you opt for a medium pocket sprung mattress with a more medium feel comfort layer, which paired with your slatted bedframe will be more than supportive at your body weight.

In our Artisan range something like the Artisan Naturals or Artisan Bespoke 004 would be ideal.

A soft spring in one of these may feel firmer than the medium Bedstead mattress, but try one before opting for this change.
