TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

What exactly is your ‘Outlet’ range?

Robert Adamson asked

We’re going to buy a new mattress and don’t know quite where to begin. Standard double – 6’3 x 4’6. I’ve read lots on your site but there’s a lot there. You were recommended on a forum which I belong to.
Our details:
I’m 5’10 and between 14.5 and 15 stones (play more golf in summer)
Wife is 5’4 and about 12 stones.
We’re both 71/72 years old and a bit stiff. I have a niggling hip and wife has a sore hip – the hip problems will slowly worsen.
We both prefer to sleep on our side and I’m quite restless.
We have an Ercol slatted standard double bed-frame which we won’t change (goes with the furniture). It has slightly adjustable springing in the slats.
Our current mattress is memory foam. Soft to get into but hard afterwards and a bit difficult to change position. Very hot – need a light duvet with it.
We’re expecting to pay £1000-2000 going from the prices from your Artisan brochures. Can’t decide which one.
My wife thinks she’d like a softer feel. We don’t know if that means sinking in deeper or quite what it means.
What exactly is your ‘Outlet’ range – why does it seem cheaper for the same products?
Many thanks
R Adamson

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your enquiry. With the body weights you have supplied we would pair you both with a medium spring tension to give you both the correct level of support.

Origins Comfort 1000

I would recommend either the Origins Comfort 1000 or the Artisan Luxury. Both of these mattresses are the softest of their ranges. Soft upholstery layers have a sink in feel (not the swaddling of memory foam) and will cushion your hips.  Even without your hip pain, we would not recommend anything too firm in the upholstery for side sleepers as this can cause pressure pains in the shoulders, hips and knees.

Our Outlet section is mattresses that have been returned to us under the ‘60 day love it or return it‘ guarantee.  When we receive back a mattress it is cleaned, inspected and graded according to it’s condition. They are then placed on the outlet page at a discounted price.

Clearance mattresses do have the 60 Day Love it or Return it guarantee but there is a £150 cost to return these discounted beds. Click here to go directly to our Outlet Range.

I trust this was helpful and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
