TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

What is the life expectancy of your Origins mattresses?

Marguerite Mackenzie asked

As I am 5ft 3″ and weigh max 9 stone, I gather the origins comfort 1000 is most suited to me. I like a medium mattress, certainly not too firm. I see this is only guaranteed for 2 years though and I dont want to have to buy a new mattress in 2 years. How long do you realistically expect this mattress to be good for? I have an ottoman base with slats.

Hi Marguerite,

Thank you for your enquiry.  At your body weight, we would recommend a medium spring tension to give you the correct level of support.  The Origins Comfort 1000 has a medium spring tension and the softest upholstery layers in the Origins range giving a sink in feel. This mattress has a 2-year guarantee. The Origins Pocket 1500 has a medium spring tension and a medium in the upholstery which means there is a slight sink but not too much. This mattress has a 3-year guarantee.

Man-made fibres used in the Origins range are not a durable as the natural upholstery used in our Artisan range, which is why the guarantee is shorter.  With the proper care and maintenance, you could double the lifespan of the mattress.  All of our mattresses suitable for any base. With slats, we would recommend a barrier, such as an old blanket or duvet to protect the underside of the mattress from indentations from the slats or if the space between the slats is more than 3 inches placing MDF or Plywood to give the mattress an even surface.

I hope this was helpful and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
