Hi Gloria,

Thank you for your question.

With the body weight provided you are matched to a Medium spring tension. The spring tension is what gives you the correct level of support within the mattress itself.

After this is determined you need to consider how you want the mattress to feel in it’s top layer, also known as it’s comfort layer.

Given that you mention existing pains, I would advise to steer clear of anything that is too firm in the comfort layer as this will only make these existing pains worse. We also advise to avoid this if you are a side sleeper as well.

I don’t know what your specific budget is but I would advise to look at our Origins Pocket 1500 mattress.

John Ryan By Design Origins 1500
1300gsm Wool
2750gsm Very Soft Polyester
3500gsm Polyester Pad
4One Inch Foam Insulator Layer
51500 Spun Bond Pocket Springs

You shouldn’t find you have the same heat issues with this mattress as with memory foam as our materials don’t rely on heat retention.

This mattress is very much medium feeling in it’s top layers, ie, not too soft nor too firm. This will give you the correct level of support as well as still providing a comfortable top layer.

A sprung base will always make any mattress placed on to it feel that little bit softer.

I hope this has answered your question fully but if you do have any further queries then please don’t hesitate to contact us on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards,
Amy.
