New mattress needed for 86 kg & 95 kg, both side/back sleepers?

C asked

We are long overdue a new mattress and are totally lost in any mattress dept/shop. I am 5 ft 7 and 68kg – side and back sleeper (on awakening often suffer from sore hip and/or shoulder). Husband is 5 ft 9 and 95kg also a side and back sleeper. Both agree our 12 yr old mattress and various toppers need to be replaced!! Any suggestions welcomed.

HI C,

Thank you for your enquiry. It sounds as though your current mattress is too firm for you, causing pressure pains in your shoulders and knees. For back and side sleepers we would recommend a medium in the upholstery layers. Anything to soft could cause misalignment of your spine. In our Origins range, I would recommend the Origins Pocket 1500 which is a good all round overall medium mattress made with synthetic fibres. In are Artisan range I would recommend either the Artisan Naturals or the Artisan Bespoke 004.  Both of these mattresses have a similar medium feel in the upholstery, can have the calico pocketed springs to suit your body weights and have a 10 year guarantee. The main difference is that the Artisan Naturals contains 85% natural fibres and the Artisan Bespoke 004 is made with 100% natural fibres.

With your body weights, we would pair you both with the medium spring tension to give you both the correct level of support.

I hope this helps and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
