You do raise an interesting point about considering a manufacturer rather than a particular model from their range – in this case Hypnos.

Hypnos, like us, and every other manufacturer have a ‘range’ that starts from the bottom – their minimum standard, and ends with a showpiece model that typifies the best they can produce. If we consider the Hypnos Sandringham falls into their top of the range and this particular model utilises their Ultrasens 17 springs/” title=”pocket spring”>pocket spring system – how far down the range do you go to find the placement of The Canterbury ?

From what I can see, The Canterbury is not even pocket sprung but utilises an open coil system [perhaps you can verify this], and secondly, I cannot see any hint of a description as to what constitutes the internal upholstery by content and weight. Perhaps Hypnos may be able to shed some light on these essential details if you call their customer services on 01844 348200.

Once you have this information you will be able to see with astonishing ease what we, or indeed anyone else can offer for a similar price. Your selection can then be finally made on quality of build, quality of overall finish, service, guarantee and so on.

In your comment you asked me if we had anything similar for less?  Without knowing what Hypnos has used to build their mattress it becomes impossible to answer.

As a Company, we are constantly saying that all mattresses should have a detailed ‘ingredient’ list that tells you exactly what the build consists of. This way you will be able to compare similar built products and make an educated and informed comparison. If this means further legislation to force manufacturers to do so, then so be it. Until then, all you can do is to phone the manufacturers in question and ask them direct.
