Mattress for a 17 & 12 st couple with back, hip and shoulder pain

my wife & I both wake up with back, hip & shoulder pain, I am 5ft 11″ weight 17st my wife 5ft 5″ weight 12st we currently sleep on a Millbrook orthopedic 2000 pocket sprung bed admittedly it is most likely 15 years old, can you recommend a mattress that would help with the aches & pains & sleep quality

With the pains you are experiencing it sounds to me as if your current mattress is much too firm. While the advice given to individuals that suffer with back problems used to be to opt for a firm (Orthopedic) mattress we now advise that you look for a mattress with a medium upholstery (comfort layer). The body weights you have provided determine you will need to opt for a dual spring tension of Medium and Firm. Dual tensions are only available is sizes King and above.
