Which type of mattress is better for side sleeper

Side sleepers need to avoid anything too firm in those top layers otherwise it does lead to those pressure point pains in places such as shoulders, hips and knees. 
 
As such we tend to advise something with a more medium feel in those top layers. Our Origins Pocket 1500 and Artisan Naturals fit the bill in that sense. Both have a medium upholstery but the Artisan range is constructed using natural fillings; Ideal for anyone who identifies as a hot sleeper as those fillings provide a cool sleep surface. 
 
A true medium will allow a slight sink into that top layer and some pressure relief. 
 
I can’t definitively tell you that Latex will give you an excellent sleep as comfort is very personal and very subjective. However, if you think it might be an avenue you want to explore then my safest advice would be to test the Dunlopillo range that can be found in stores such as Furniture Village, Harrods, House of Fraser or And So To Bed. That range compares with our own Fusion range, consisting of 100% Natural Latex. Latex is generally great for pressure relief. 
 

 
If you choose a pocket sprung mattress then you would need a dual tension; One half would need to be Soft for your partner and the other half Medium for you.
