Do you deliver to Northern Ireland?
Hello!, Firstly I must comment on how informative your website is – it is certainly refreshing to hear the truth from a retailer for once!
The comment from ‘Arlene’ on the 21st April caught my eye as my wife and I are also looking for the biggest bed we can afford. She is 5’3, 10st, and I am 6′, 14st. Our budget is c. £1000 and I was wondering what you could recommend?
We are interested in some sort of divan.We have three kids under the age of 4 who frequently end up in bed beside us!
Many retailers encourage you to lie on their beds to get an idea of how they feel and I understand that you have a 30 days returns policy, but how confident are you that your recommendation is right for us?
Finally, I notice from previous comments about delivery that you deliver only to the mainland. Does this mean that you do not deliver to Northern Ireland?

Good news and bad news.
Bad news is that we currently do not have the capability of delivering to NI.
The good news is that we will still be able to advise you as best we can on what would be a good mattress for you and your wife – and your budget.
To give you an indication on what would be suitable for you, your wife, and the kids I would have suggested the Origins Pocket Latex 1500 Superking at £890 for the complete set.

The potential lifespan of this particular model is a good seven years (if cared for and loved) and falls well within your budget.
It may be slightly on the firm side for your wife (at 10st) but like Arlene, the addition of a topper would add the required extra comfort she may need, help it to break in slowly and naturally as well as helping to keep the mattress as new – particularly with three kids and orange juice thrown into the equation.
You are now going to ask me what mattress is out there that is similar/same as our Origins latex and unfortunately I do not think there is one.
The biggest and most ludicrous problem you are faced with is that most manufacturers will not tell you precise breakdowns because it is most likely the actual content of similar is so minimal they would be embarrassed to do so.
You do have a complete breakdown of our model, and it is a good starting point to use this as your guide to find better.
Our price is also a good indicator but I know if this was in a showroom you would be paying substantially more.
Do not be tempted by polyester based mattresses unless you are prepared to do all you can to ensure a worthwhile longevity.
Look at our Origins Pocket 1500 or 2000 as an example of a well built polyester mattress.
It is quite unlikely you will see this standard in many showrooms at the price we sell it for.
The price of Polyester mattresses may be appealing but Polyester is not known for its durability without some element of back-up (we use Reflex as a foundation – This acts as a buffer and stops the polyester wadding being compressed fully on to the spring unit).
If you do go down this route, The White Company have a three inch feather and down mattress enhancer which would considerably help in improving the comfort (and lifespan) of a lower priced mattress – a viable consideration.
Your comment about most retailers encouraging you to try out the mattress is an interesting point of view and obviously one that we personally do not subscribe to.
It would be so completely different if you were given necessary and pertinent detail such as what the mattress actually contained but this will be unlikely so you will have to ask (unless you are looking at the likes of Vi Spring of course).
The attention lavished on how a mattress looks in a showroom far outweighs the attention given to the (most important) parts you will never see (the internal components).
Our ‘confidence’ is borne from the fact that we know what is right for you moreso than you do!
Please don’t take this an an arrogant statement – far from it.
We can walk around any showroom and walk straight past the beds on display that are nothing short of upholstered turds and pinpoint within a few minutes those that are worth a more detailed look.
We are then able to justify quite accurately whether it is worthy of the asking price.
As a final testament to this – If Ryan and I can produce a “better” built mattress with an accepted value of £3200 for £1720 (Our Artisan Bespoke) do you really need to try it?

We do hope to eventually be able to deliver to NI, but currently the carrier costs are prohibitively expensive.
