Deliveries on the UK mainland are carried out by two-man courier to the room of your choice.
As soon as the courier company receives your order from us, they will call you direct to arrange a convenient delivery date.
We do not charge for any UK deliveries or Returns unless the order is under £200 in value which will have a £50 shipping charge.
Delivery areas for John Ryan By Design
We deliver to UK mainland only under our free delivery.
Deliveries will be pre-arranged by phone with a time slot between 0800 – 20.00 Monday – Friday. You will also be called on the day of delivery. Please ensure you give us as many contact numbers as possible when placing your order.
Does John Ryan By Design deliver outside the UK?
We now deliver to Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland for a small additional charge.
If you need to return or exchange an item from the area listed above then the same fees apply to send the items back to us and have them redelivered.
At present, we don’t ship or deliver worldwide. We can, however, deliver your goods to a UK port of choice where you can arrange onwards delivery for your mattress. If you need to use the 60 day love it or return it guarantee, then you would need to get the mattress back to us at your own cost.
Our UK Couriers
We pay top dollar for our courier service, which is why we require the minimum order value of £200 and we expect them to deliver as efficiently as Ryan and I would do ourselves. It will always be a 2 man team who will deliver to your room of choice. Our courier team will assemble the bed for you and take away all packaging. Please get in touch if you have additional/special requirements.
Ordering Under £200
Given the high cost of our delivery service, it does mean that there is a minimum order value of £200. Orders under this will incur a £50 contribution towards the delivery costs. For most customers delivery will be free, the minimum order value only covers items such as one-off outlet headboards or toppers that have already been reduced. If your order qualifies for Free delivery it will be selected as standard.
Special access requirements / Failed Deliveries
Please advise us at the point of order of any special requirements. For example, delivery to a loft conversion, flats or apartments without adequate lifts, limited stairwell access, narrow lanes to your property, inadequate parking for the delivery vans and so forth. If goods are returned back to us due to inadequate access we reserve the right to make a charge of £85 to cover the failed delivery.

We also ask you to double check that the mattress size you are ordering will fit in your room, please check our sizes guide here for the mattress you are looking at.
Bear in mind that no matter how well laid out the plans are – things can go wrong! Bad traffic conditions are usually the culprit and at times a pre-designated delivery may have to be postponed. Although this is actually rare it is advisable you do not completely remove your current sleeping arrangements until you have received your order.
If we have arranged a delivery date and time we will do our utmost to stick to it. If we can’t we will always let you know as soon as possible. Also please bear in mind that the more bespoke your product then usually the longer it will take, we will discuss this with you when you place your order.

Does John Ryan take away old mattresses?
Sorry, but No. We use a courier firm who will not mix old and new products on their vehicles. Your local Council will be able to advise on the most suitable method of disposal. We advise that you ring your local Environmental Health Dept.
Delivery into your home and to a room of your choice is a free service upon request and therefore we (or our sub-contractors) cannot be held liable for any damage to your property in doing so. In actual fact, we and the delivery firm we use do take the utmost care and consideration but it is best to remove all pictures and antiques just in case.
