This mattress features Organic Plant fibres to create the ultimate combination of Natural fibres in a mattress with a soft feel. We have carefully created this mattress to provide the ultimate in breathable natural layers topped off with a medium soft comfort layer
We’ve written about how effectively Natural plant fibres are in high-end mattress construction as they are not only incredibly durable but lightweight. The Artisan Sublime is the first in our range to use these Natural fibres.
The insulator layer is made up of 2200GSM of Coir & Organic Plant Flax. Which acts as a resilient cushioning layer between the spring unit and the 3200GSM of additional luxury Natural Fibres above.
The twin layer of vanadium coated calico pocket springs provides a far more progressive support unit than a single tier can. Giving more flexibility to the sleep support unit.
A layer of 1200GSM Horsehair provides additional rebound before the incredibly high wicking 1200GSM of Alpaca fibre provides a snug feel to the comfort layer. This is then topped off with ultra-soft high wicking 800GSM Natural Bamboo fibre giving that exquisite medium feel in the top layer.

When the John Ryan mattress arrived I already knew we were on to a winner. The quality for clear to see visually with the lovely finishing and fabric. The handles to turn the mattress are well positioned and easy to use. The zip is working well – we are turning the mattress every few months and it’s easy to do despite being a super-king size. But the best thing is how comfortable it is. My husband and I are quite differing heights and build (5’4″ and 6’2″) but we both opted for medium tension on John Ryan’s recommendation. I like a very firm mattress and my husband likes a very soft one so I was concerned that one (or both) of us was going to be disappointed but we’re both very happy with the mattress.

Received our mattress within a month with no problems. The chaps bought it upstairs, put it on the bed base and unwrapped it.
It’s a really comfortable mattress, (possibly a little less squishy than the equivalent, fantastically more expensive Vispring we tried) I can really feel the quality and have had great sleep for the three weeks since we’ve had it.
