Harrison Spinks/Spink Springs Posturfil and HD Springs

Michael Duncan asked

Hello Factory Beds. I have a question.
Like I said to you a while ago, I have purchased a Harrison bed off Benson’s. It has Harrison’s “Posturfil and HD Springs” I was watching a YouTube clip from British Beds Worldwide and he said “These tiny watch springs do absolutely nothing, they do not support you at all, these tiny watch springs that you can squeeze with your finger will not support you at all” I find it very strange. From what he said about these springs would not support you at all, if they would not support you, they would have not won awards, they tiny springs have won awards. What is your take on this?
I will give you my personal opinion.
British Beds Worldwide stock Vi-Spring, Hypnos and Relyon beds. I find that in a lot of his YouTube clips he gets lots of digs into Harrison Spinks beds. When he said that above in a YouTube clip was clearly aimed towards Harrison Spinks. Like I said though, if these tiny springs done nothing and does not support you at all, these springs would have not won awards. For these springs to win awards, they must do their job and THEY MUST SUPPORT YOU FOR THEM TO WIN AWARDS. Lots of people regard as the Posturfil and HD Springs as Leading-Spring Technology. I will send you the YouTube clip below. Like I already stated, these tiny springs obviously support you, or they would have not won awards.
What is your take on these springs? Do you think these are as good as they are made out to be or just a gimmick?
I personally think they are as good as they are made out to be and World leading spring technology.
I hope to hear back from you soon.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your question.

We don’t construct or retail any products with the springs that you mention. As such it’s difficult for us to comment definitively.

What I would say that HD springs, often being smaller than normal sized springs, are designed to take the place of natural upholstery. As such, I wouldn’t be convinced that they provide a greater level of comfort over and above layers of natural upholstery. HD mattress-guide/” title=”spring”>springs are tiny in comparison to normal springs and as such we find that companies tend to use these as a marketing ploy from that sense that a higher spring count must equal a better mattress and that is simply not the case.

If you consider that most mattresses these days are constructed to the same depth (usually between 11 and 13″) then if you’re filling the mattress with more and more springs then the fillings logically have to be compromised somewhere. We always advise that as long as you have the right spring to support your body weight then we get behind the fillings more than a higher spring count because the fillings provide you with comfort.

In our Origins range our spring count starts 1000; Origins Comfort 1000 and Origins Pocket Reflex 1000. 1000 springs will more than adequately support medium body weights (with ourselves ranging from roughly 9st to 17st).

If you need any further advice in relation to the HD springs we would always recommend contacting the supplier direct as they can better assist with queries regarding their own products.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don’t hesitate to contact me on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
