Thank you for your question.

Given the body weights, you have provided you would need a Dual Spring Tension on a traditional pocket sprung mattress.

The spring is what provides the support from inside the mattress itself; You would need a Medium spring for yourself whereas your husband would need a Firm spring to provide a bit more support.

Given that you also disclose that you have back problems I would advise that you need a mattress that isn’t too firm in its top upholstery (comfort layers) as this will only serve to make those pains worse.

As such I would advise that you need more of medium support from those top layers and I would guide you to our Origins Pocket 1500 mattress as well as our Artisan Naturals mattress.

Both are the true medium feeling mattresses in their respective ranges; The Origins is our starter range whereas the Artisan Naturals will just feel softer than the Origins as it is constructed from natural fibres and materials and always comes in feeling softer and cooler overall.

Our Artisan range can be tailored to a dual spring tension in the one overall unit but the Origins range can only be done in a dual spring tension via zip and link.

Zip and Link is ideal where there are property access issues, where one user tends to disturb the other or where there is a big difference between the body weights of the users as they are 2 separate entities that can be zipped together.
