TAKE OUR MATTRESS QUIZ

My mattress is hollowing on both sides

Dear asked

Hello!
I would welcome your views on the HIGHGROVE SOVEREIGN 2000 (King Size) 2000 encapsulated pocket sprung series or better still have you had experience of this mattress?
We are now into our 2nd mattress in the space of 12 months after having to complain and change the first one after just 8/9 months due to hollowing on both sides(appears to have collapsed ) and now the second one is beginning to show the same faults after 3 months!! I would add my wife and I are not heavily built at all.
I am in dispute with the retailers at the moment and wonder if you have come across faults with this particular manufacturer in the past. The mattress cost me £565.00 ,not cheap by any means.
Would appreciate your views on Highgrove please
Thank you
Mr M.D.Hopper

Dear Mr Hopper,
As you are no doubt aware, the published details in respect of both the construction and upholstery layers of the Highgrove Sovereign 2000 mattress are vague, making it impossible to provide any form of opinion in respect of the quality or performance.

Whilst we are aware of the Highgrove name, we are not familiar with their product range. Having said that, I have reviewed the details provided in respect of the Sovereign and note that it is described as a one sided mattress, which would indicate that the upholstery in on the upper side of the springs and there is likely to be the minimum of upholstery on the underside as this is never meant to be slept on.

The majority of bed manufacturers in the UK, including Highgrove are members of National Bed Federation. This self appointed lobbying organisation audit the bulk of manufacturers in the industry, of which Highgrove are one. It may be worth making contact with the NBF to see if they are able offer any clarity and guidance. Kind regards Mike.
