Origins Platform Base vs. Contemporary Platform Divan

The Origins Platform base is our basic model. This base is a box frame constructed with pine which is then covered with a polyester fabric of your choice. We pair this base with our Origins range of mattresses.

The Contemporary Platform base is constructed in a similar way but with solid wood to give it a more robust structure. This is then boarded and upholstered with 600 GSM of wool and cotton to give the base a soft padded feel. This is then covered with a polyester fabric of your choice. This can be also paired with our Origins range of mattresses which are designed for a platform base or with our Artisan range of mattresses if you prefer a slightly firmer internal support.

Any of our mattresses can go on any base, however, the type of base can affect how the mattress feels. A mattress that is designed for a platform base will feel softer on a pocket sprung base whereas a mattress that is designed for a pocket sprung base will feel slightly firmer in the internal support when put on a platform base.
