Pillowtop question

Michael asked
12th January 2016

Hello! I am looking at buying a Relyon bed with a pillowtop but I am worried it will dip, so I called Relyon asked if the Pillowtop will dip and this was there reply “the pillowtop has springs in it so it won’t dip” do you agree with that? Do you think since the pillowtop has springs in it, it won’t dip? Do you think that is true that it won’t dip? Do you agree with that? Yes or no?

Hi Michael,

I am afraid that without knowing the specific Relyon model you are referring to, I am unable to comment as to the validity of the response you received. Having said that, if the pillow top contains springs, there is little room left for upholstery. The whole concept of pillow tops is flawed by virtue of the fact that ultimately, over time, the top will flatten and as it is attached to the mattress, you cannot rejuvenate it by fluffing or turning and as a consequence you will need to replace the whole mattress sooner than you would if you had a separate topper.

If you were to look at a standard two-sided mattress with an additional topper this would provide a superior comfort layer and increase the longevity of the mattress overall.

I trust this helps
