Resilience suitable for slatted base

Suzanne asked

Are your Resilience mattresses suitable for use on a wooden frame bed with slatted base? Also, do you deliver to the room of choice, even if that was on the 3rd floor?

Afternoon Suzanne,

Thanks for your question about our Resilience mattresses. These mattresses are designed for heavier sleepers or those who prefer a super firm feel.

They certainly are suitable for a slatted base but we always recommend a slight tweak when placing a John Ryan By Design mattress onto a slatted base. We advise that you place some mdf or plywood over the slats to stop the mattress from being pinched or forced between the gaps in the slats. We have a detailed article here on why we advise this. It’s a relatively cheap fix that ensures your slats don’t damage the mattress.

Alternatively, you can pair up the Resilience with any of our bed bases whether it be at Ottoman for extra storage or a sprung edge divan for the ultimate luxury bed base. There’s loads of detail here about mattress bases explaining the differences which may be of interest.

We do deliver to room of choice and the third floor is not a problem. If you can put it in the order notes when you buy from us that’s super helpful, but don’t worry if not each customer that buys gets a call ball just to check the order anyway so it won’t get missed!
