True Edge Artisan pocket sprung base
For a king size pocket sprung base which is made up of two halves – are the inner edges of the base (ie. where the two halves of the overall bed base meet) hard framed or do the springs protude above the level of the actual frame in this area.
I am just concerned that if the mattress rests on the wooden frame in the middle of the bed then this might form a ridge in the matress whereas the rest of the mattress would be resting on the springs in the base.

Thank you for your question.
The springs in our Artisan Bases do protrude above the top of the base but as we put an extra firm spring at the edge of the base, this will not cause any problems with the mattress. We have never received any bases back because they have caused a ridge in a mattress.
Our timber frames are solid wood which is sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved sources making it a sustainable choice. These solid wood frames are then upholstered with 600GSM of Cotton Wool Upholstery to give a soft padded feel to them.
The use of a sprung edged base also has the tendency to increase the lifespan of the mattress. The theory being that the actual springs inside the mattress are sharing the load with a further set of springs within the base.
