Vispring Greenwich

Hello,

I am considering buying the Bespoke 004, would this be a similar feel to the Vispring Greenwich (exclusive to JL). I know you have compared it to the regal superb, but I am unable to get to a showroom to try non-JL Vispring mattresses. If you can advise which of the JL visprings the 004 is currently closest to in feel that would be a help, as I’ve had a chance to try most of them.

For example I found the Greenwich to have a much nicer feel than the Wimbledon.

Hi Elliot,

Thank you for placing your question via our website regarding the Vi Spring Greenwich.

We have had a look at the Vi Spring Greenwich with regard to the upholstery layers contained within that mattress and as it seems to contain a lot of softer fibres, this would feel similar to our Artisan Luxury which contains 100% natural fibres together with calico encased pocket springs and provides the sleeper with a softer level of comfort.

The Vi Spring Wimbledon would have a comparable feel to our Artisan Bespoke 004 having pure horsehair which provides the mattress with a more medium level of comfort.

The John Lewis range of mattresses do not however state the GSM (Grams per square metre) of fibres/upholstery layers and our observations are from the photos from their website as to what we assume the comfort would be.

When choosing a new mattress, not only do you need to ensure that the level of comfort is correct but also ensure that the level of support is correct for you as well. The support is provided by the internal spring unit and is based on body weights and heights. Someone of body weight of under 17.5st would require a medium spring tension for support and anyone over 17.5st would require a firm spring tension for support.
