What mattress for Laura Ashley bedframe?

I am trying to find a new mattress to use with our Laura Ashley wooden slatted bedstead. We have a budget of between £1500 and £2000. Our current mattress is one I brought with me from NZ as I loved it so much!

It has a wool pillow top (both sides) and is very comfy. I am 63kg and my husband is 79kg. I find a lot of mattresses leave me waking with aching bones and are far too hard. We recently stayed at my husband;s brother and their guest bed was super comfy – it was a Sealy Exclusives Posture Elegance mattress. I would buy one like that in a shot but haven’t been able to find this mattress. We’ve been into Harrods and seen a Vi Spring that seems good but to be honest I am so nervous about buying something that’s going to be too hard I am almost paralysed!

So far I’ve decided to investigate further the John Lewis own brand Natural Collection with Yorkshire Wool, but then I stumbled on your website and wonder what you could recommend for us?

We have a mattress protector and a sheepskin/wool topper on top of our mattress but honestly I am like the princess and the pea and have been known to sleep on top of a duvet in hotels as the beds are so uncomfortable.

Hi Jann, The mattress at your brother in law’s may no longer be produced by Sealy, which is why you cannot find it.

It is likely to have been replaced by another model, however, without knowing the specifications, it will be impossible for us to establish which of their current models is a match.

The John Lewis Natural Collection is made for them by Harrisons, but unfortunately, because they do not disclose the specific details of the filings by way of GSM (grams per square metre), it is impossible to provide a comparison.

All of our Artisan range contain natural fillings.

In order for us to advise on the most appropriate mattress and which ones are comparable to mattresses in the Vi-Spring range, please call our office.

Regards.
