What is the difference between Origins 1500 and 2000

A customer asked

Hi, Well done on a brilliant website; It's rare to find anyone with such enthusiasm and knowledge for the products they sell!

Could you offer any advice to help me decide between the Origins Pocket 1500 and 2000 mattresses?

I am working to a budget of £450. My wife and I are more or less the same weight at 12st and we prefer a "medium" mattress. If I have digested the details correctly, the only constructional difference between these two is the number of springs and therefore the tension?

I could possibly stretch to the Sequence Pocket Suspension but again am concerned this would be too firm. Regarding delivery, we are in North Somerset/South Bristol area - would you deliver here personally or would it be a courier?

Is there any chance you could bring both and we could make a decision on delivery?

I appreciate you offer a good guarantee but I thought this would reduce the likelihood of another journey if we found the mattress wasn't right for us. Many thanks, Martyn

Hi Martyn,

Many thanks for your kind comments.

Very much appreciated.

If your budget is in the £450 region then I would say opt for the Origins 1500 mattress.

John Ryan By Design Origins 1500
1 300gsm Wool
2 750gsm Very Soft Polyester
3 500gsm Polyester Pad
4 One Inch Foam Insulator Layer
5 1500 Spun Bond Pocket Springs

Your bodyweight is entirely average at 12st and although the 2000 would be equally suitable (albeit a firmer tension) it would be more beneficial for people of your body weights to get the correct support.

For you the 1500 model is supportive as well as comfortable.

More importantly, opting for a mattress that is slightly firmer when new, but tweaked by use of a protector/topper to instantly give the perfect comfort layer is better than trying to find the perfect tension from day one.

People tend to forget that they will hopefully have the same mattress for a number of years and (my favourite analogy) just like a new pair of shoes will break in slowly over a period of time to become absolutely perfect for you.

And yes, The Sequence support will be too firm for you.

As for trolling down to Somerset with a selection of mattresses for you to choose is I'm afraid not posible.

Ryan and I still try to do the majority of deliveries ourselves and the van is always full to capacity with en route deliveries.

As you rightly point out our guarantee is there for your entire peace of mind.

But, be aware it is not a trial.

If you are not happy with what we select or reccomend then we collect and refund.

We only replace with alternatives where we have made an error of judgement (which does happen - but in reality, not too often).

Please give us a call on 0161 437 4419 if you have any more queries.

Many thanks.

John.
