A customer asked

Hi John & Ryan Help please I need some advice.

My mum is in her eighties and has had a hip replacement.

She bought a Harrison classic a couple of years ago but recently has found it very uncomfortable, especially where her weight rests on her hip.

She sleeps on her side and wants the softest mattress possible, could you give me some advice.

Many thanks Trish .

Hi Trish.

No doubt your mum will be of a very light bodyweight and so it is with no hesitation that our Origins Comfort will be the right choice for her.

John Ryan By Design Origins Comfort
1 750gsm Very Soft Polyester
2 500gsm Polyester Pad
3 One Inch Foam Insulator Layer
4 1000 Spun Bond Pocket Springs

We also have our Artisan Luxury mattress, if you would like to go up in our range. This is the softest mattress we make and we can also make this mattress in a soft spring, dependent on your mothers body weight.

John Ryan By Design Artisan Luxury Vi-Spring Devonshire
1 1200 GSM British Fleece Wool and Cotton 600gsm British Fleece Wool
2 Hairproof Cambric Cover 1700gsm Devonshire Fleece Wool
3 1200gsm Pure Horsehair NA
4 500gsm Pure Wool NA
5 1200gsm Pure Horsetail NA
6 500gsm Pure Wool 300gsm Bonded British Fleece Wool and Cotton
7 1476 Calico encased Pocket Springs [51mm] [1.42mm] 1326 Calico encased Pocket Springs [54mm] [1.52mm]
Total GSM 4600gsm 2600gsm

I would also say that the addition of a soft topper will provide additional cushioning for her hip as well as being the ultimate mattress protector will benefit her as well - search for a good quality goose feather and down topper.

Hope this helps.
