A customer asked

hello. Great looking site with loads iof info. Im looking for a new bed and have seen one in london that looks alright. Its from a company called the sleep room, or maybe loaf, and after a bit of asking they've told me the following: its 28 cm high, non-turn, 1400 steel british springs (imported from Europe) that are 18cm high, synthetic foam layer 1.2cm, 30mm of polycotton, 30mm wool mixture felt layer. Its £525 for a king size and they do reg, firm and extra firm. We like our bed to not give to much when we climb on, so firm/extra firm is where we're headed. my partnets between 9 and 10 stone, im around 12. what do you think?

Good value?

Thanks, Stan. n

Hi Stan.

I would pitch our Origins Pocket 1500 as a comparison (£620 SEPT 2018.) We do not have any one sided mattresses (apart from our Origins Latex) and this one point alone should be enough for you to decide for yourself which is a better value mattress.

Incidentally, fillings should be determined by weight (GSM) not height or volume.

Kind Regards Gary

hello again thanks for the response to my other question - i wont get that other mattress.

im now looking at latex as an option and Im comparing your pocket 1500 with the yanis pocket 1700.

the yanis looks consderably cheaper but i don't understand why.

Can you help?

I guess im asking 'why should i buy your pocket latex mattress'?

Thanks again.

Stan Hi again Stan.

I'm afraid I do not know why it's considerably cheaper either.

Apart from theirs being vac packed which is a process we do not subscribe to, the depth of latex and the spring count can be seen as comparable.

However, this is where my sceptism comes into play: We detail the quality of the 6cm of latex we use, being Latexco, as used by Dunlopillo.

What precisely is the 'Latex' used in the product you refer to?

I have a hunch that it is the grey graphite latex but I'm afraid you will have to ask Yanis for their intrinsic detail as unfortunately I cannot find out this crucial aspect.
