Help between Vi Spring and Harrisons beds

A customer asked

Hi, I'm looking for advice. We have seen 2 mattresses we like and are within our price range (ish). One is the Harrison Opal, and the other is the Vi-Spring Newbridge. I'm a hefty 18 stone and my better half is roughly 11 stone. We both preferred the "firm" Opal rather than the medium. Neither of us felt that the added number of springs in the higher end Harrison range added much to the comfort (in our 2 minute lay down test of each bed). We're obviously worried about buying a bed off the internet "untried" as some that we have tried have felt extremely cheap in comparison (Harrison Gold for example). I'm upgrading from a Millbrook Mirage 1400 which is "ok" but I'm guessing all of your range will be a great improvement. Im obviously too heavy for the present mattress as it squashes down a hell of a lot with me on it. Can you give any info as to which mattress to go for?

Hi David.

The Vi Spring Newbridge in John Lewis. The description was British Fleece wool and Cotton plus horsehair. If you found this to be comfortable I would steer you towards our Artisan Naturals.

Taking your differing bodyweights into account, you will require a dual spring tension (half medium for your better half - and half firm for you).

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Hope this helps and sorry for the delay in replying.

John and Ryan.
