Is Salus a good match to Dunlopillo?

A customer asked

Hi.

I wanted to buy a new mattress for my Dunlopillow Saraband Bed.

Seems they are expensive and not many people seem to stock Dunlopillow.

I have been told that the Salas 1500 is more than a match by the sales guy at my local bedding shop but reading the above, I'm not at all sure, The bed we currently have has a sprung base and I think that this in itself is a problem as the Salas relies on a sturdy base.

Your thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks.

Peter.

Hi Peter.

I can't find too much information on The Saraband but from what I can glean is that the construction is Latex on top of a Foam support unit - please feel free to correct me on this.

Also, from what I can glean, is that the latex contributes to 25% of the overall mattress depth.

As the depth of your mattress is 22cm you can assume that the latex layer will be in the region of 5cm.

Salus do manufacture a latex mattress but I think this is on a springs/" title="pocket spring">pocket spring unit rather than PU foam (I might be wrong).

If so it will be an easy exercise to find an equivalent.

When you say you have a sprung base, do you mean sprung edged divan base or sprung slatted base.

I cannot imagine a sprung edged divan base being problematic.

John and Ryan.
