Questions about bedding for ziplink mattresses

A customer asked

Hi, we're thinking of replacing our guest room bed with a zip and link so we have flexibility for putting up singles and couples, but are unsure on an associated aspect - linen. Single mattresses are typically 6'3" but those on a zip and link 6'6". If using as a double bed then it's a straightforward king size linen approach, but how do you advise people to make up as single beds please?

Thanks .

Hi Richard.

Quite correct and this is something that everyone should consider prior to their purchase.

There are three sizes of ziplinks

Kingsize zip link makes a standard kingsize when together but when split makes 2 small width singles at 2ft 6in wide by 6ft 6in long

Extra Kingsize zip link makes a standard super kingsize bed width 6ft when together but 3in shorter than a standard super kingsize mattress at 6ft 3 in long. When split makes 2 standard single beds at 3 ft wide by 6ft 3in long.

Super Kingsize zip link make a standard super kingsize bed when together 6ft wide by 6ft 6in long. When split make 2 standard single width mattresses at 3 ft wide but 3in longer than a standard single at 6ft 6in long.

You can do a Google search for companies that make bespoke size bedding, there are lots of them about.

Kind Regards Gary
