Advice please. My husband 6ft 68kg and I 5ft 6ins 60kg are looking to move from a double to kingsize bed and have tried the John Lewis 'special buy ' 12000 angora medium firmness currently priced at £2199. This is at the top of our budget. Would your Artisan bed be a suitable alternative ?

Hi Christine,

There are many mattresses within our Artisan range, none of which can be compared to the mattress you refer to at John Lewis.

This is because, although the constituent parts are provided by them, there is no specific breakdown by way of GSM (grams per square metre) for those fillings, making a comparison impossible.

The 12000 spring count is achieved by including layers of mini springs in addition to the standard pocket springs.

You should not be swayed by the number of springs as in some cases, the extra layers of mini springs replace layers of natural fillings.

Our Artisan range can be compared to various Vi-Spring mattresses and I would suggest that you call Marie or Gary on our office number 0161 437 4419  to discuss your specific requirements and the suitability of any of the Artisan range for you.

Kind regards Mike.
