Insignia Blenheim, your opinion please?

A customer asked

Looking for a firm mattress ~ £1200, tried the dreams insignia blenheim pocket sprung (4000) - which seemed to fit the bill - but there is very little info on it to make cross comparisons. Live in far north of Scotland (mainland) so not many places to try out mattresses. What are the comparisons (if any) with the Artisan naturals?

Looking for a king size, firm, (like a good hotel one), one where you can't feel it if your partner moves etc. I'm ~ 9stone, my partner ~ 14 stone. What would delivery be to far north of scotland (mainland)?

Thanks in advance >

Hi Si,

You have hit the nail on the head with regard to the issue of comparisons.

We are not able to provide a comparison because unlike us, many other manufacturers do not provide the specific GSM (grams per square metre) details of their fillings. Given the 5st difference in your weights, it may be prudent to opt for a Zip and Link set of mattresses, as these could be supplied in a king size, but with differing tensions for you and your partner. They would also reduce the occurrence of disturbance when your partner moves.

The Zip & Link set is more expensive than a one-piece mattress, but if you specifically wanted a one-piece mattress, a split tension is available in the size you require. Your body weight will determine the overall spring tension required as displayed by this chart below.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Kind regards.
