How does the Artisan Naturals compare to other models?

On your email advice & having rung up as well this week, we have just tried the Vii Sprung Regal Superb and the Dunlopillo Latex. We didn't like the latex so tried a few other mattresses and liked the Somnus Diplomat with 5000 pocket springs. It's made up of natural cotton, Herdwick eco wool, British wool & Hemptex fibre. It doesn't come in soft though, just medium or firm, so we wouldn't get the soft/medium combination that you offer. This mattress has a high spring count so we thought it was good for £1195. We also liked the Somnus Concordia Moneta with 3000 springs which has a sprung topper but non-turn as the topper is attached. The salesman said not turning the mattress is roughly equivalent to 2 years less life. This was £995. I'm a bit put off by the non-turn element despite it being the most comfortable for both of us. What would your advice be?

As you are no doubt aware, although they advise what Somnus mattresses contain, they do not disclose the GSM (grams per square metre) of those fillings, making any form of comparison to our own mattresses impossible.
Likewise it makes any recommendation as to value for money equally difficult.
You are quite right to be cautious regarding one sided mattresses and those with attached toppers known as "pillow top" mattresses as these two things have great impact on the longevity of a mattress.
As previously advised, our Artisan Naturals is comparable to the Vi-Spring Regal Superb and we are able to state this with confidence because Vi-Spring do disclose the full details of the fillings used. The mattress has an overall medium comfort meaning the mattress is neither too soft nor too firm.
Could you please advise us as to the body weights of the people who will be sleeping on the mattress in order that we can ensure the spring tension is correct for the support.
