A customer asked

Good Morning John. A very informative website -thank you. We are in the process of choosing a new bed. Our existing bed is a Relyon super king zipped, 20 years old & now very dipped & too firm; transformed with toppers. We were thinking of the Harrisons 10,000 Emarald medium, super king zipped approx cost £2600 with base. The zipped mattresses being easier to turn than one very large one !

Your comments & advice would be appreciated. Regards Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

We are not able to make any comment or recommendation regarding the specific mattress you refer to because, unlike us, Harrisons do not disclose the details of the upholstery layers by way of GSM (grams per square metre).

In addition, before making any recommendations regarding any of our own products, we would need to be advised of your body weights.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Certainly, the zip and link option reduces the issue of bulk when turning the mattress.

If you are seriously considering the Harrisons mattress, then we would suggest that you ask the retailer to confirm the levels of upholstery used, although we think it unlikely that they will be able to answer such a query.

In that respect, like any substantial purchase, you would expect to be given a detailed answer in order to make an informed decision.

I hope that this helps, regards Mike.
