Replacing Warren Evans mattress
Hello Our current kingsize Warren Evans mattress is over seven years old and we are looking to replace it.
We want to retain the wooden slatted bed base so need something that will work with that.
My husband (6'2") weighs around 15-16 stone while I'm around 9 at most.
I've been looking at the Origin 1500 but would be wiling to stretch to the Artisan 1500 if it would offer a really noticeable higher level of comfort.
I've also thought about the Origins Latex (?) but am worried that it might be too firm for my weight.
Could you please advise?
Hi Fiona,
Thanks for your question.
The major issue surrounding you proposed purchase is the weight differential of 6-7 stone.
I note that although you have advised what your current mattress is, you have not specified the spring tension or the preferred feel required for you both.
Whilst the Origins Pocket 1500 would be a medium feel for you, it would be soft to medium for your partner.
Your bodyweight | This will feel |
---|---|
Under 10 Stone / 63kg | Medium |
10-12 Stone / 63-76kg | Medium |
12-14 Stone / 76-88kg | Medium |
14-16 Stone / 88-101kg | Medium |
16-18 Stone / 101-114kg | Soft to Medium |
18 Stone / 114kg Plus | Please call for advice |
It is possible to purchase this mattress in a zip and link set with one having 1500 spring and the other having 2000 springs.
The 2000 spring option would provide your husband with a medium feel corresponding with the 1500 for you.
This mattress cannot be provided in a one piece with a 1500/2000 split.

Alternatively, you could opt for a split tension one piece Artisan 1500.

Kind Regards Gary
