Mattress encasement

E Kyle

Hi, I've ordered an Artisan Naturals mattress and now I'm looking at protectors for it. I have a problem with cloth moths in my house that are incredibly difficult to completely get rid of so I was thinking that the only way to really protect it is to use a mattress encasement since they eat natural fibres. When I receive the mattress I understand that it could have an odour and need to air out. Would I be able to put on a breathable mattress encasement immediately or would it restrict the airflow too much to get rid of the smell, do you think?
Am I just being paranoid or is an encasement a good idea?
Thanks

Hi E Kyle,

Thank you for your question.

We always recommend using a mattress protector as soon as you get your mattress as it stops sweat, damage and wear from impacting your mattress.

If you know you suffer from moths I'd take great caution in making sure the mattress is protected as moths like anything that contains natural fibres.  The last thing you want is to give the moths a free meal!  The mattress should still be able to breathe even with a protector/encasement and I would contact a Company called 'Allersafe' who should be able to assist you with a mattress encasement.

I hope this assist but please do not hesitate to contact our office for further information/advice on 0161 437 4419.

Kind regards Julie
