Latex Mattress Bases

Hi, I have a slatted base and have just received a Fusion Latex Mattress. I covered the slatted base with plywood to prevent seepage through the slats. My question is - should I drill holes in the plywood for ventilation - or to prevent moisture build up? I covered the plywood with a mattress protector prior to placing the mattress on top of this.

Hi Lee,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The Fusion 3 is a natural latex product and will breathe even if placed on you plywood covered base. The mattress protector you are using will also protect the underside of your mattress and prevent it being marked by the plywood. It is not necessary to drill holes in the plywood, although it will assist the mattress to breathe. In addition to the protector used on the base, we would always advocate using a mattress protector on the mattress as well, which will protect it in the event you need to invoke our 60 day "love it or return it" guarantee.

We trust that the above helps, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419 and speak with one of our advisors.

Kind regards.
