Problems with Tempur mattress

A customer asked

I purchased a tempur original mattress about 7-8 years ago and put it on my slatted bed.

I changed my bed base about 10 months ago to a cheap divan base with drawers.

Now i find our backs are really aching every morning.Do you think it could be this cheap base and what bed base would you advise for this mattress.

I noticed you have several bed bases for sale, thanks Gina

Hi Gina,

Thank you for your question.

Your choice of base can slightly alter the overall feel of a mattress, placing a mattress on a Platform top divan will slightly firm up the over all feel of a mattress whereas a sprung base will slightly soften the overall feel.

We have four base options to choose from one of which is our Artisan Base.

Taupe Hopsack Artisan Mattress Base

We provide two options on our sprung edge bases.

1. The Bonnell coil sprung edge base as our starter model

2. Pocket Sprung ‘True Edge’ base as our premium model

Both are full upholstered in our fabric selection.

This allows you to choose a base suitable for your budget and requirements. Both are an exceptionally high quality base and your preference will depend on how discerning you want to be about your sprung edge base!

Our timber frames are solid wood which is sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved sources making it a sustainable choice. These solid wood frames are then upholstered with 600GSM of Cotton Wool Upholstery to give a soft padded feel to them.

We do NOT recommend using a slatted base with any foam mattress as over time the foam conforms to the gaps between the slats which causes problems with the mattress. Foam mattresses prefer a platform top surface to provide a more consistent feel .

I hope this information is useful to you, should you have any further questions please contact the office on 0161 437 4419 to speak to one of our friendly advisors.

Kind regards,
Amy.
