Which is better?

LW

One of your Artisan beds - or the ViSpring Dartmoor (John Lewis) or the Warren Evans Heavenly - which is £1090 in the sale (they said they can sell it to me at sale price, out of sale time.. as it is over £3000 usually)? I would like to get a ViSpring not through JL, but other places don't have returns options.
Thanks
Lucy

Hi Lucy,

Thanks for your question.

It is not possible to say which is the better mattress as the two products you refer to do not have published details in respect of construction and upholstery in terms of GSM (grams per square metre).

I am aware that the Dartmoor is a soft feel mattress as the layers of upholstery seem to be primarily wool, but I have no details of the Warren Evans product. The softest mattress we make is our Artisan Luxury mattress, this is a 100% natural fibre mattress with a calico encased spring unit. This mattress has a similar feel to a Vi-Spring Devonshire.

John Ryan By Design Artisan Luxury Vi-Spring Devonshire
1 1200 GSM British Fleece Wool and Cotton 600gsm British Fleece Wool
2 Hairproof Cambric Cover 1700gsm Devonshire Fleece Wool
3 1200gsm Pure Horsehair NA
4 500gsm Pure Wool NA
5 1200gsm Pure Horsetail NA
6 500gsm Pure Wool 300gsm Bonded British Fleece Wool and Cotton
7 1476 Calico encased Pocket Springs [51mm] [1.42mm] 1326 Calico encased Pocket Springs [54mm] [1.52mm]
Total GSM 4600gsm 2600gsm

Please give the office a call on, 0161 437 4419 with your body weights and we will be able to recommend the best spring tension to suit your body weights.

Kind regards,
