my grandmother is 91 years of age and slim build , weighing 9 stone, i would like to buy her a new mattress , im afraid to say, the mattress she sleeps on is probably 50yrs old!! So it is very moulded to her shape, she is used to a very soft mattress, and i would like advice as to what to replace it with, especially as she is very anxious that a new mattress would be too firm and give her a restless nights sleep. Many thanks.

Hi Sarah,

I understand your concerns regarding the feel and comfort of a new mattress not matching that of the old one being used. This is going to be the case with whatever product you buy, however, with a soft spring tension and soft upholstery layers, you should be able to minimise the difference. Please view the Artisan Luxury, which is the softest in our ranges and can be selected with a soft tension spring.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

With your grandmother's body weight this is the correct spring tension and the soft upholstery should provide an enveloping feel, which may be similar to the moulded shape of her current mattress.

Once you have viewed the Artisan Luxury, if you require any further guidance or advice, please call our office. Kind regards.
