My weight is 110 kg an my length is 180cm. I sleep in an old Victorian iron bed with a hard bottom made by wood. The size of the mattress should be super king sized but for practical reasons it needs to be ziped. What mattress do I need???

Hi Lars,

Thank you for your enquiry.

With your particular body weight, we would suggest that you look for a firm spring tension/feel mattress. There are a number of products which might suit your requirements, the first of which is the Origins Pocket 1500 with a 2000 spring option, which has man-made fibres in the upholstery. Alternatively, if your budget permits, please view the Artisan Naturals, Artisan Bespoke 004 or Artisan Bespoke, all of which have natural upholstery and can have the spring tension selected as firm.

As far as using any of the above products with your current base/bed frame is concerned, we would advise you to place some form of barrier, usually thin (3-5mm) MDF over the base to provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit. This will prevent any ridging occurring and will make any mattress placed upon if feel slightly firmer. We trust that the above is of assistance to you, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419, kind regards.
