Do we need a topper as well as a mattress

Our current mattress is almost 20 years old, so we feel it needs replacing. We had planned to buy a Premier Inn Hypnos mattress after experiencing sleeping on them comfortably in several different Premier Inns, but came across your informative website and think we'd prefer yours. However, I can't seem to find out whether we need a mattress topper as well as a mattress. Also, as you describe your mattresses as 'two-sided', should they be turned regularly? Many years ago, my Father sold Vi-Spring mattresses and the vast majority of complaints about them stemmed from people not turning them, so I'd really feel happier if we can turn our mattress!

Hi Jenny,

Thank you for your question.

Our Origins Pocket 1500 does have a similar feel to a Premier Inn Hypnos mattress but you would need to add a topper to the mattress as the Premier Inn Mattress has a built in topper. We would always advise against pillowtop mattresses since that fabric will compress and once it does you can't do anything to salvage the mattress.

Our mattress would need to be turned and rotated on a regular basis in order for the fillings to settle evenly.  By doing this on a regular basis, you are extending the life span of the mattress and although we give a three year guarantee, we would expect the mattress to last twice that length of time.

We hope this assists but should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our office on 0161 413 2714.

Kind Regards, Julie
