Bought a mammoth type 22 mattress a few years ago , my wife hated it within the first week as she sleeps on her front and the mattress does not give enough to support her shape , which has started giving her a bad back and hip pains ... We bought the mattress as i get back aches and pains from work , back support is good i must say but im a side sleeper and with me been quite broard shouldered i wake with shoulder neck and upper back pain .... Im 6ft / 14.5 stone , my wife is 5ft5 / 13.5 stone ... We have been looking at hypnos pillowtop mattress and the like but reading the more detailed information on your site, im now interested in which of your mattresses you would recommend for us ...budget around £1500 Cheers Graeme

Hi graemehogan1977,

Thank you for your question.

We would always advise you to steer clear of a Pillowtop Mattress for the reasons that they are 1 sided mattresses restricting the lifetime straight away and once that fabric settles you will be left with a compressed piece of fabric that you can do nothing with.

Anyone with aches and pains needs to steer clear of any mattress too firm in it's top layers as it will simply make those pains worse. As such, I'd say you need more of a medium feeling mattress and at your body weights I'd guide you to our Origins Pocket 1500, Artisan Naturals or Artisan Bespoke 004 models.

The Origins Pocket 1500 is the true medium feeling model in our starter range. The Artisan Naturals is the true medium in the Artisan range and is also our best seller. Both these models will give a slight sink and a medium support. The Artisan range being constructed from natural fibres and materials has a cooler sleeping surface as well as feeling ever so slightly softer than the Origins.

The Artisan Bespoke 004 is still classed as a medium feel but is softer than the Naturals.

I hope that this has answered your questions fully but if you would like to discuss this further please don't hesitate to contact me on 0161 413 2009.

Kind Regards, Lee.
