Would you recommend replacing our mattress but not our divan base

We are not thinking of spending our budget on a nice mattress pocket sprung - using our budget in full for the mattress, the old divan is 10 years old and seems ok - is this sensible or not please?

Good morning Kevin,

Thank you for your question.

If your existing divan base is not damaged in any way then there is really no reason to change the base if you are happy with it.   It is always advisable to spent your money on the right mattress to give you the correct comfort and support.

Artisan Charcoal Mattress Base

When recommending one of our mattresses, we like to have the following information in order for us to recommend the correct one for your needs :-

  • Weights and heights of the people who will be sleeping on the mattress in order to make sure the correct spring tension is advised.  The springs in the mattress are there to give you support and that support is dictated by body weight.
  • How those people like the mattress to feel from the comfort layers (those are all the upholstery layers which are on top of the springs)

Once we have the above information, we will then be able to recommend the right mattress for your needs.   It would be advisable to telephone our office on 0161 437 4419 to speak to one of our Customer Service Advisors who will be able to assist you further with your purchase.

Kind regards Julie
