Replacing a Harrison Spinks - recommendations?
Looking to replace our king size Harrison Spinks ‘Diamond’ 13000 spring mattress, which has been wonderful, but sadly now past its best. I like to feel like I’m sleeping on a cloud and have previously had ‘gentle’ tension from their range but having read your guide, it suggests for my weight (12stone) I go for medium with comfort layers. I’m a side sleeper, what can you recommend? Prefer natural fillings.
Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for your question. The Harrison Spinks Diamond 13000 mattress seems to have been discontinued which means it is very difficult to make a comparison as there is no information available.
The number of springs within this mattress is 13000, which means there are many layers of micro HD springs, We do not use these springs as they offer nothing in support but do take up space where more luxurious upholstery layers could be. The spring tension is based on your body weight to provide the correct level of support. We would pair you with the medium spring tension. We discontinued the soft spring tension some time ago as many lighter-weight customers returned the mattresses as not supportive enough.
We do not have a 'cloud-like' mattress within our range. Our softest upholstery mattress is the Artisan Luxury which has a softer medium level of comfort in the 100% natural fibre upholstery layers. When a mattress just contains wool and cotton they tend to compress quite quickly. By sandwiching the soft layers with horsehair and horsetail as we have done in this mattress, it supports the softer layers and helps them to retain their loft. You can add a mattress topper to this mattress to achieve the level of softness you require.
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
