A durable mattress that doesn't dip where we sleep after 6 months

What would be the best mattress for a 17 stone 6ft 3 man and a 11 stone 5 ft 10 woman. Our bed had a slatted base. I have arthritic pain and would like a comfortable bed.

Hi Tracey

Thanks for your question.

What you really need to stop dips showing, is a mattress that can be turned over at least once a month, to allow the settlement to even out.

Settlement is natural and will happen to any mattress, no matter what upholstery layers are used, it is unavoidable, but being able to turn the mattress over, and give the side you have just been using time to rest, and press against your base, whilst you use your other side, will help to even out all the settlement, which takes at least 12 months of constant turning to achieve it's final surface.

I would recommend that you take a look at the Origins Pocket 1500 mattress in a kingsize zip link option, one half with 1500 springs for yourself, and the 2000 spring version for your husband's side. This will then give you both the correct support level for your heights and body weights. It is also a fully turnable mattress, which gives you much more flexibility.

If you require any further assistance please call the office on 0161 437 4419.

Regards Gary
