A mattress to fit into recess
I have a 4ft 6 in double bed where the mattress drops in to a recess about 4 cm deep. Can you supply a mattress to suit this?
Hi Ian,
Thank you for your enquiry. The depth of our mattresses is between 27 cm and 37 cm. I am correct in assuming that you have a wooden bed frame with slats that the mattress sits inside the frame? If the inside measurements are 137 cm x 190 cm then a standard double mattress will fit inside the recess. If the space between the slats is more than 7.5 cm we would advise boarding over the slats to give a mattress a uniform surface. If the gap is less than 7.5 cm then an old or cheap duvet will protect the underside of the mattress from indentations.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
When purchasing a new mattress there are a few things to consider. The bodyweight of the sleepers will determine which spring tension will give you the correct level of support. Your comfort preferences and sleeping habits determine how the mattress should feel to give you a comfortable nights sleep.
