Barry

I am looking for a dual tension king size mattress, we have the divan, I want medium firm to one side and medium soft to the other. I do not wish to compromise on quality. I personally prefer a firm mattress but my partner much prefers a softer mattress can you help.

Hi Barry,

Thank you for your enquiry. Spring tension is determined solely on an individuals body weight. This is to give the correct level of support which allows the body to find it's own level throughout the night rather than be forced into an unnatural position.  The spring tensions available are soft, medium and firm.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Where the option to select medium firm or soft medium, this is for a duel spring tension mattress, either as a one-piece mattress or with the zip and link option. This means that one half of the mattress would have medium springs and the other have would have firm or soft depending on the option.  Duel spring tensions are available with all our Artisan range in king size and above.

Choosing which model would be the most suitable is determined by your comfort preferences and sleeping habits. We can not make a mattress that has two different comfort levels even with a zip and link mattress. When a couple has vastly different comfort preferences a compromise has to be made, sometimes to something that would be acceptable to both. We would need this information along with the details of your current bed and why it is no longer right for you. It could be that it is too firm or too soft or that it was perfect when you bought it but it is now old and needs replacing. All this information helps us to determine which mattress to recommend.

I hope this is helpful and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
