Artisan Bespoke 004 vs Artisan Luxury
Hi, I think I have narrowed my mattress choice down to the Artisan bespoke 004 or the artisan luxury.
Could you explain the differences some more please and why one might choose one over the other? Kind regards
Hi Terry.

Thank you for your question. Here at John Ryan, we understand that choosing a mattress can be confusing. Hopefully, I can help you
with your choice.
\n
The Artisan Luxury – This
mattress has a softer medium feel in the 100% natural fibre upholstery. This is
ideal for side sleepers who like a soft but supportive feel in a mattress. The layers of pure wool have been sandwiched
with layers of pure horsehair and horsetail to help the upholstery layers retain their loft for longer. This
mattress has the softest upholstery layers of any mattress that we have to offer. We do not have a cloud-like
mattress as these only contain wool and cotton in the upholstery and without support, these tend to compress quite
quickly

Please note that the soft spring tension has been
discontinued since the making of this video

Artisan Bespoke 004 - This mattress has a true
medium feel in the 100% natural upholstery layers. This is a good allrounder mattress as it is not too firm for side
sleepers but it is not too soft for those that sleep on their front or back. If you sink in too much when sleeping
on your front it can create an unnatural arch in your lower back causing lower back pain. If you sink
in too much when sleeping on your back it raises your ankles and neck which causes lower back and neck pain. Adding
a mattress topper to this mattress
will replicate the overall feel of the Artisan Luxury mattress.

When choosing a new mattress and deciding which comfort layers would be
the most suitable, along with your sleep positions, you also need to consider your comfort preferences. Your current
mattress can also play a part when recommending a new mattress. For example, customers that have been sleeping on
memory foam or latex for some time can find it difficult to adjust to the tufted areas of a traditional
pocket-sprung mattress. If this is the case, a separate mattress topper will not only provide additional comfort and
help to even out the sleep surface, it can also prolong the lifespan of the mattress.
\n
\n
The support from the mattress comes from the pocket spring
unit. The gauge of wire used to make each spring determines the tension. The correct spring tension will
give you the correct level of support and this is determined by your body weight. The medium spring tension will
support bodyweights up to 17 stone depending on your height and the firm spring tension supports bodyweights between
17 stone and 23 stone depending on your height. We do not offer the extra firm - orthopedic - spring tension for
which you would need a body weight of 20 stone to start to activate the springs.
