Tony

Looking for advice on which mattress or combination of mattresses would best suit myself and my partner. My partner is about 10 stone and prefers a softer to middle firmness mattress I am heavier being approx 23 stone
My mattress preference usually means it's too firm for the wife.
We need a super king size or a mattress we can have different firmnesses on.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for getting in touch.

At your body weights you would need a dual tension mattress to get the right level of support. Your partner will need a Medium spring tension and you will need a Firm spring. Please note that our Firm springs will cover weights up to 23st but not much more than that.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

With our Artisan range you can have a dual tension in the one piece mattress or alternatively you can have a Zip and Link mattress. This would give you 2 independent mattresses that can be used together or apart.

Once the spring tension is determined the focus shifts to the upholstery (also referred to as the comfort layers). The feel in the top layer will remain exactly the same regardless of spring tension so there will need to be a level of compromise. Only the spring tension can be altered in our mattresses and we can't construct a Zip and Link mattress with 2 different top layers.

I'd advise here to go for something in the middle with a medium feel in that top layer providing a slight sink but not too much.

Have a look at our Artisan Naturals and Bespoke 004. Both have that medium feel with the only difference being that the Naturals is constructed with 85% natural fillings and the Bespoke 004 with a full 100% natural fillings.

I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
