Can I have different springs in one mattress?

A customer asked

Hello, We are about to replace a King Size bed, which is getting fairly old, with a new mattress and base but hopefully keeping the headboard. I am just under 16stone, and 5'11" tall, my wife is about 12stone and 5' 7". We both sleep on our sides. I have found Memory pillows too hot so I guess we are looking at springs/" title="pocket spring">pocket spring beds. Because of the difference in weight, are we limited to Ziplink mattresses or is it possible to accommodate both of us with a single design?

Would retaining the headboard be a problem with Ziplink?

I am normally hot at night, my wife much less so.....not unusual I guess!

Budget is less of a problem...I would rather get it right. >

Hi Paul,

You are correct in suggesting that, with the weight differential, you would require different tensions.

This can be provided in the form of a zip and link set of mattresses, which are available from King size upwards or a split tension one piece mattress, again this is only available from King size up.

With a one piece, however, the split can only be in soft/medium or medium firm.

There should be no problem with you retaining your current headboard as the fixings should be in standard positions to enable it to fit different types of base.

The split tensions are only available in our Artisan range and I would ask that you view these and then make contact with our office when you have one in mind to purchase.

I trust that this helps, kind regards
