Change one side of mattress springs?

Hi Mike, thank you first off for answering my previous question regarding my too soft mattress. I'm going to give it two weeks and the try a 10mm plywood board to see if that makes a difference. However, just out of curiosity, with a split tension bed is it possible to change the tension on one side? Or would this not be possible and you'd have to get a new mattress? Thanks in advance :)
Hi Michele,
Unfortunately, you couldn't change the tension of one side once the mattress has been made.
It would require the same amount of effort as making a new one and once the mattress is made certain elements could not be reused, such as the side panels would need to be fully replaced and the whole mattress recovered and tape edged.
Let us know how the plywood on the base works out for you.
