Hi Sue,

Thank you for your email.

Both the mattresses you refer to are manufactured by Harrisons and the descriptions of both do not give specific GSM (grams per square metre) for the upholstery layers. This makes providing any form of comparison impossible. Having said that, the upholstery is natural fibres, which our Artisan range contain.

Secondly, the level of springs in the Trebah is set at 8200 and in our opinion, for people of average body weight (10-17st) 1000 springs in a king size mattress is sufficient to provide the correct support. From what I understand they are including layers of mini springs to get to this high spring count and I am not aware of the benefit of those extra layers of springs versus layers of natural upholstery. I have provided a link to an explanation of GSM here to assist you.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

If you would like to discuss any of our Artisan range and provide details of your body weight(s) and preferred feel, please call our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind regards Julie
