Different size mattress and bedframe advice?

The answer to your question is yes, of course, you can. Just be careful not to bash your legs or arms on the base at the edges where the base is bigger than the mattress.

You may also want to board over the slats if they are more than 2inch or 5cm apart. This is because mattresses will conform to the gaps in-between the slats over time and can damage the mattress.

You may be wondering why certain bed retailers make slatted bases if this is the case. That's because its the cheapest way for them to make bed frame prices more competitive.
